He's got Personailty

I thought it was a good idea to fill you in on Thomas, as he is 9 months old now. I don't know why 9 months strikes me funny with my babies but it does, maybe because at 9 months they have now been part of this world as long as they were a part of me.

9 months & Newborn

My Brother-in-law and sister-in-law once told me that they thought that the baby's personality started to really come out at 6 months old (they should know they have 6 kids). So as with Phil I was on the watch for the little personality the day he turned 6 months. But I came up with nothing right away. I think the personality comes out with the babies new found mobility. So now that Tommy has found his mobility we have found his personality.

He is mobile now, although it took him a while to learn how to roll over, once he did we could see he was into learning how to get from here to there. He can sit up, but prefers being lying on the floor so he can do his little tummy scoot across the floor. He can now get to most parts of the house. His favorite places and things to visit are the Bathroom (so if you come over and the door is closed, it doesn't mean someone is in there, just trying to keep someone out), the pantry, Phil's room and the broom & dustpan. He has started pulling himself up about 3 weeks ago, and is now pulling himself up on everything. I have a feeling I may have a climber on my hands (as Phil was not), and he may be the child that keeps me in the ER waiting room. Yesterday he pulled himself up to standing in his Highchair. So now we have to buckle him in, I seriously NEVER buckled Phil in.

If I had to sum up his personality in two words it would be inquisitive and determined. Tommy is always on the look out always looking at something, going for it to really figure out what it is. He has a determination that he will not let anyone or thing get in his way.

Although he has this exploring nature, he is very much a snuggle bunny, he likes to sit on your lap and just sit. Nothing Beats his little dimpled smile, Long eyelashes and frill of hair (No I do not do anything to make it do that, it does it on it's own). It is the most fun to listen to him babble away in his crib in the morning, then go in and get the biggest smile.

Photo Finish Friday- On time!!

You Know how churches say "just come as you are"? Well we did, this is our family, as we are, at church. I must mention that it was Wednesday night Bible club and it was Pajama night, so we all dressed "down".

I have been taking a Photography class this past month, so that means the Boys have been at home one night a week with daddy. This weeks class went late and when I came home and checked on Phil, I found him in a "army tent". The things dads can come up with.

Photo Finish Friday On Saturday

Man am I glad this isn't a graded blog for school or something, cause I would be handing in these assignments late.

But the Photos are well worth it. Yesterday was the 10th Anniversary of Joel and My First date (if you didn't read that blog post, Joel and I met at a wedding of a great couple who happen to still be good friends, so everytime they have an annivesary so do we).

So the Pics this week are the first pic of Joel and I ever taken, this was taken on Forth of July 2002, and One of us last night at dinner.

(For those wondering I think that is a sticker or Facepaint on my face, for 4th of July)

Photo Finish Friday On Monday

Sorry, I was Oh so busy on Friday with a brother-in-law birthday down at work, and dinner to ailing church family member, then when I got home from delivering dinner the sun was out (at least that is what we think that shining orb in the sky was, we rarly see it these days in Northwest Washington), so I announced to my boys, lets eat dinner, and go down to the beach!! That is what we did, we went to a local beach, threw rocks, found sticks, soaked up Vitamin D. So Sorry for missing Photo finish Friday.

When out and about we often get comments about Tommy's Hair, but today we got stopped at the Library a women smiled and said "He Looks like Tintin", Although his hair is not red like Phil's, But the like mohawk spike is so cute for now, and does look quite a bit like Tintin.

It's Inevitable

It's inevitable, no matter how laid back you are, no matter how much you flex the rules, or how much you think it won't happen to you, your children will ALL embarass you. Most likly when you least expect it. And they Just LOVE doing it in Church.

We go to a very small church, and Phil & Tom are really the only kids, so if something happens in church, everyone knows it's my kid, there is no blaming on the family in the pew in front of us.

Like a few weeks ago, Phil walked in and pitched his stuffed animal over the pew (during service), but that time the only one who saw this was my friend from high school.

But last week after we finished singing, the worship leader asked "aren't you glad you have Jesus in your life". The church starts their humming, mmhhmm and Amens. Then in the milliseconds of silence after that, Phil speaks up "No", and the whole church chuckles.
That moment I was busy entertaining Tommy in my lap, and did a double take. Then I did a tiny scoot down the pew so I wouldn't get hit by lightning.

Like I said It's inevitable, and it happens when you least expect it.

PFF

So as I speak, the children are not here, they are having a sleepover at Grammy's, including Tommy, (does any else here the choir of angels break out in the hallelujah chorus). But my camera is there too, cause after we dropped them off Papa was going to show Phil his new work Bench, so no pictures of our week!!! So your PFF is from a few weeks back. These are funny.

Sweet Potatoes Much better as Face paint!
