Almost 3

Phillip will be three years old this month, so I thought it fitting to give a little update. Well He may look and act a lot like Joel, He has his mother's gift of gab. When we left for Africa, his sentences were short and his vocabulary although was not small, but was very basic. When we returned his sentences were much longer, and he had noticeably bigger vocabulary, with quite a few more adjectives. We often will ask him how things are and he answers "Oh pretty good". Joel and i often sit in the car with him and listen to him ramble on about some story, sometimes the story will involve things like, snow, cows, dogs, tractors and the babysitter, all in one story. Joel and I will sit there and answer "umm hmm".
We have been potty training since October. sometimes I wonder if we will ever get this one thing of basic human life down, but I keep reminding myself, no normal kid went to college in diapers. So we will keep plugging away at it.

We found out that Phillip can not keep a secret. Especially when the secret is a baby brother or sister. Phillip is super excited about having a baby sister ( for the record, We have not found out the Sex of the Baby and probably won't, but Phillip thinks it is a sister). He is very loving and cuddly to friends baby's (who happen to be girls, so I think, he think they only come in girl form), and other kids we encounter. I am excited to see how he responds to our little baby.

We had a great time over Christmas with him. One night the three of us went out to dinner, and the waitress, just fell in Love with Phillip. she asked him if he had gone and seen Santa yet, He got a Really sad look on his face and stuck out his lip and said "no", She then asked if he had been good this year, the same sad face and stuck out bottom lip and said "No". We did take him to see Santa the next day. He was very excited about Christmas tree, and all the decorations and angels on the tree. Unfortunately he was also excited about the presents this year. So that is what we heard for a month Plus and are still hearing about, "I want that for Christmas". This year for Christmas Joel and I, and Grammy and Paps, got Phillip a Pedal tractor. He loves it even though he hasn't gotten a hold of the pedal action. Christmas afternoon, after his nap, Phillip woke up and said, "you got more Presents for me?". Well not that day, but Christmas dragged into the next day with cousins, then the next week, with other family who couldn't make it up.

I look forward to see what the future holds for Phillip. He is such a bright little boy, with so much spunk, compassion, and animation I just don't know what the future will hold for him, but we look forward to wait and see.
